Fresh from our kitchen, direct to yours

Thorner’s of Somerset began with the simple idea of providing quality butchery meat, sourced locally in Somerset whenever possible. This is still one of our core values and now, in addition to fresh meat, we are proud to offer an award winning range of pies, quiches, savouries, ready meals, desserts and cakes. These are available from our farm shop, our online shop and through our network of retailers across the South of England.

Jon Thorner

Born and bred in Somerset, our founder Mr Jon Thorner, opened one of the regions very first farm shops in 1979, as an extension of the family farm and abattoir. Our core values of using locally sourced, high welfare meat and fair pricing for suppliers has remained at the heart of the business for over 40 years.

Our Reviews

Really good comprehensive farm shop. Lots of local produce and of course everything and more from Thorner’s. Good range of local bottled cider and wine too.

John Norman

Always get our meat here, great choice, value for money and a wide range of groceries. Shop wisely and you can get closer to supermarket prices than you think. Then there’s the quality of the meat!

Leslie Hooper

Actually it’s about Thorner’s meat pies and quiches. They are the best we ever taste. We live in Surrey and whenever we visit relatives near Bath we stock up with Thorner’s pies and quiches for our freezer.
